Digital Well-Being in a Connected World
This eLearning course was designed as part of the 2025 iSpring Course Creation Contest to help remote knowledge workers improve their digital well-being by identifying key challenges, implementing digital detox strategies, and fostering resilience through healthy work habits.
Overview
Audience: Remote knowledge workers struggling with blurred work-life boundaries
Responsibilities: Instructional Design, Storyboarding, eLearning Development, Content Creation
Tools Used: iSpring Suite Max, Murf.ai, Canva, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint
Problem and Solution
Remote knowledge workers often experience screen fatigue, blurred work-life boundaries, and an "always-on" culture, leading to stress, burnout, and decreased productivity. Without intentional digital well-being strategies, they struggle to maintain focus, set boundaries, and disconnect from work effectively.

After analyzing these challenges, I designed an interactive eLearning experience to help remote professionals identify digital well-being pitfalls and develop practical habits for healthier screen use. The course follows Alex, a remote worker, through real-life scenarios, allowing learners to practice decision-making in a risk-free environment.
Features
Scenario-Based Learning: Learners engage with Alex, a remote worker facing digital well-being challenges. Through realistic scenarios, they analyze Alex’s daily struggles and make decision-based choices to apply digital detox and mindfulness techniques. This approach encourages critical thinking and personal reflection.
Prescriptive Feedback: Learners receive tailored feedback on their choices throughout the course. Instead of simple right-or-wrong responses, contextual guidance explains why certain strategies are more effective and how they contribute to improved digital well-being.

Interactive Role-Playing: To reinforce learning, learners step into Alex’s shoes and navigate real-world dilemmas—such as handling after-hours work emails or resisting screen distractions. These role-play activities provide immediate feedback, allowing learners to experiment with different approaches in a risk-free environment.

Mindfulness in Practice: A built-in breathing exercise helps learners experience mindfulness firsthand. With a guided audio script, learners practice a one-minute mindfulness technique, reinforcing stress-reduction habits they can incorporate into their daily routine.
